SEBASTIAN - FIR GROVE GARDEN 2025

This portrait is part of a new series of paintings exploring personal and intimate moments through expressive portraiture.

Sebastian, Fir Grove Garden is inspired by a photograph taken in a garden in Hampshire, capturing my 10-month-old son seated on the grass, wearing a soft blue denim sun hat. I was particularly drawn to the composition—his gaze off to the right, the gentle natural light, and a single bright dandelion offering a vibrant yellow focal point in the foreground.

The original photograph is framed alongside the painting, providing a reference point for the translation from image to painted form.
